Tattoo Aftercare

 

Take care of your tattoo like it’s a fresh wound—because it is. Proper healing means your tattoo will look beautiful for years to come.

 

1. Leave the bandage on for at least 30 minutes-1 hour. 

Your artist will cover your new tattoo before you leave. Keep it clean and covered during this time.

 

2. Wash your hands, then gently clean the tattoo.

Use warm water and mild soap. Pat dry with a clean paper towel—don’t rub.

 

3. Apply a thin layer of ointment.

Aquaphor or a tattoo-specific product is best. Do this 2–3 times a day or as needed —just enough to keep it from drying out, not enough to smother it. Always wash your hands prior to applying ointment. 

 

4. Don’t pick, scratch, or soak.

It’s normal for your tattoo to peel and itch—resist the urge to mess with it. No swimming, hot tubs, or baths for at least 1 week. 

 

Healing time:

Most tattoos take 5–10 days to heal on the surface. Full healing can take up to two weeks depending on size and saturation.

Piercing Aftercare

 

Every piercing needs time, cleanliness, and patience.

 

1. Clean twice daily with saline.

No alcohol, peroxide, or ointments—just sterile saline or a sea salt mix.

 

2. Hands off!

Always wash your hands before touching your piercing. Don’t twist or rotate the jewelry.

 

3. Avoid irritants.

No makeup near it, and avoid sleeping on it if possible.

 

4. Don’t change the jewelry too soon.

Let it fully heal before swapping jewelry—ask your piercer if you’re unsure.
